Introducing Our $7K Matching Grant, Mother’s Day Gift Ideas, and Cat Café….

As we head into Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14th, we invite you to share this time with us in several ways. The current kittens will be too young for visitors for a while, but for anyone in the market for a unique Mother’s Day present, we have several ways to share The Goathouse Refuge Cats and Kittens with your family and friends, from a Virtual Kitty package to a visit at the Goathouse and an early-bird reservation for a future date at one of our first presentations of our own “Cat Café”!
We also are excited to share that one of our donors stepped forward during our last appeals and we now have a $7K matching grant campaign underway –so a donation now can have double the impact.

oms and kitties!
1. Donate in the name of your loved one and have it count for double –$7K matching grant
Show that you can make your money really count! Donate during our current fund drive!!! Your donations are tax deductible, and we have a special donor who will match funds up to a total of $7,000. We need every penny and you can help us get there! Make your gift in the name of your loved one, and provide us with the information, and we will send an acknowledgement to your gift in a Goathouse Refuge note to your designee of choice. Completed forms/donations by Monday , May 9th should arrive before Mother’s Day on May 14th; later submissions may arrive after May 14th, but we will continue to process them. Get a head start for Father’s Day too!

2. Give your Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend or other loved one a Virtual Cat from our Website
For $20.00 each, you can select a cat from our current cat pictures, fill out the Virtual Cat form and your Virtual Cat recipient will receive a photo and behind-the-scenes -information about their new virtual kitty. This fun present lets them know you care, and they don’t even have to buy a can of cat food to enjoy their virtual pet. Plus, the money you have given on behalf of your family member or friend will help the Goathouse Refuge take care of that cat, and other cats and kittens, as we are a Non-Profit totally reliant on the donations from people like you.
3. Name a future kitten with the name of your friend or family member
For $30 dollars each, you can add a name onto our kitten list, and we will name one of our new or future kittens using that name. This is the chance to recognize a loved one by having a kitten named with her (or his) namesake! (Caveat: names must be a single name or word and must be appropriate, in our sole discretion, for public consumption and for naming a kitten.)
4. Adopt a Cat
If you are considering a cat adoption, come visit us: we have plenty of lovely and loving female cats who have graduated out of motherhood – celebrate their status as “retired mothers” and give them a Mother’s Day present – a new home! We are open from 12-3 every day.
5. Come and Visit, and Have a Prepaid Reservation to Enjoy Tea and Dessert in our Cat Cafe
Purchase a ticket for a future reservation for two at a Cat Café event. The $30/ticket will provide two people with tea and a homemade dessert, including all gratuities, at The Goathouse Refuge. Come for a visit to our wonderful Refuge and garden, and then enjoy this special refreshment in the garden or our soon to be café venue. Note that this offering is limited to special dates and times, and we are just now developing our schedule and new forum for this, so we will contact you to confirm a date and time. Please see the schedule of our planned Cat Café dates. This is a fun way to have a delightful afternoon and also support the Goathouse, while sharing this special place with a loved one! 6. Consider a unique ceramic piece from The Siglinda Scarpa Gallery
Make an artistic and functional statement –each piece is a very special gift, full of love and expression and a potential family heirloom for generations to come. 7. Short on money but have time and energy to spare? Become a trained Goathouse Volunteer
You will have plenty of new knowledge and stories to share with friends and family about what you are learning and doing, and regale them with your own cat stories! Become the present!
