A New Year’s Thank You from the Goathouse
Posted January 03, 2017
Our beloved furry friends at the Goathouse reminded us that it’s the time of year to say THANK YOU for your help in 2016. Thanks to your caring heart, your generosity, and your volunteer hours, our fur babies have a safe place to live, medical care, tasty food to eat, and cozy warm places to curl up and nap on these chilly winter days.
We’re happy to let you know that we found homes for more than 300 of our cats and kittens this year – but for those who haven’t yet found their forever homes – or perhaps never will (although we hope that’s not the case) – their forever home is the Goathouse. Taking care of so many is very expensive and takes a lot of work – your generous donations and critical volunteer hours make it all possible.
We are, as is often the case, struggling to pay our higher-than-normal 2016 medical bills. Our mission is to take in as many cats and kittens as we can, regardless of age or medical condition, and taking care of our cats, especially those who are sick or came to us abused and/or malnourished, can become very expensive very quickly. If you’d like to help us catch up, please make an end-of-year donation. You can do it here (link to gofundme.com).
And if you’re off work for the holidays – and looking to get out of the house or entertain houseguests and grandchildren – please come visit the cats and kittens! After all, love is just as important as food. We’re open every day from 12 to 3, and would love to see you.
