All Goathouse Refuge friends, supporters and friends-of-friends
are invited to The ArtsCenter in Carrboro
Saturday, August 20 at 7:00pm
for the first-ever community meeting,
Meetup with a Purpose: Sustain the Mission
We will enjoy an evening of gelato and cold sangrilla while celebrating the Goathouse Refuge vision–changing the way animals in shelters are cared for by example–and brainstorming about sustaining the Refuge’s mission and upcoming projects.
Make the Goathouse yours too! Bring an animal-loving or cause-loving friend to the Meetup!
Below is a preview of ways to “roll-up your sleeves” and help the Goathouse achieve its mission:
Will you serve by . . . or can someone you know serve by . . .
- Participating on a Goathouse Committee: Special Events, Fundraising, Facilities, Volunteerism
- Installing two more windows in the Kitten House? Painting the Kitten House?
- Volunteering to care for the cats during an evening or weekend shift?
- Working in the gardens to spruce them up for our visitors and fundraising events?
- Volunteering as Facilities Director by welcoming visitors to the Goathouse, conducting tours, coordinating logistics for special events and more? Calling all recent retirees seeking to make a meaningful contribution to the community at a magical place!
Will you donate . . . or can someone you know donate . . .
- Supplies or time to build a handicap accessible bathroom and ramp? Introduce us! Or bring him/her with you!
- An old truck that you do not use? We need one!
- A good large washing machine?
- A large storage cabinet?
- Donate a window air conditioner? kitchen cabinets?
- A prefab storage unit? Or time to help build one and insulate it?
Will you help sustain the Refuge by . . .
- By becoming a member? Join us!
- By becoming a monthly Coffee Cat contributor? Join us!
- By recruiting three friends to join as members or monthly Coffee Cat contributors?
- By bringing 3 friends to the Kiln Opening & Inventory Sale on September 24 or to a Cat Café at the Refuge this fall
- By asking your employer to join in making a matching gift to benefit the Goathouse Refuge mission?
- By introducing us to a business sponsor who would like to partner with the Goathouse? Introduce us or bring a representative!
- By sponsoring our new clinic, kitten house or gift shop building
