Every dollar you donate means an extra dollar for the cats!

It’s matching grant time again!
A special friend of the Goathouse and longtime supporter will give $10,000 to the to help our cats if we can raise that much from our community of donors.
These funds are vitally important to Goathouse right now. So we’re asking you, as part of the Goathouse family, to step up to help us meet our immediate needs. Your donations will go towards numerous important things – spays and neuters for the kittens we took in this summer, surgeries and treatments for injured our sick cats, daily veterinary care, medication and vet check-ups, and to pay our small, dedicated, and loving staff members who care for the cats and maintain their spacious living spaces.
We run many of the Goathouse’s functions via volunteer labor – adoption, intake, socialization, outreach, foster services and communications are handled by a core group of faithful volunteers – but with a regular count of 250 cats including many special needs, senior, and less-adoptable animals – we must maintain a small staff to ensure the cats get consistent daily care. Taking in cats regardless of age or disability can get expensive, but it’s our core mission – and worth it to see cats recover and thrive who might otherwise have suffered or died. These days, it’s a struggle to keep all the cats fed and cared for while meeting our payroll, and both are critical to our survival.
In addition to routine expenses, we’re cleaning up storm damage related to Hurricane Matthew, and preparing to keep our cats warm and dry for the winter. Now is the time to make that end of year donation, just a little early, so you can help when it is especially needed! Please also spread the word by liking and sharing the Goathouse Refuge on Facebook, telling your friends and family about us, and forwarding information about our need for help. And if you can, become a volunteer! The cats would love to see you!
Donate to our matching grant via PayPal or credit card, or send us a check, call, or email us to make other arrangements. Please consider becoming a Sustainer by providing a monthly donation to help us throughout the year. In addition to this matching grant, we are also currently mounting individual item campaigns and a General Fund campaign, in efforts to catch up with our higher than usual veterinary bills this year. We hope these give you choices as to where and how you choose to help, and the message is consistent across the board – we really, truly need your help now!
